The Dreamers is a co-produced project between Oasis, TGP Cymru, and Cardiff and Vale Health Inclusion Service (CAVHIS) in partnership with young refugees and asylum seekers aged 16-25 in the UK. The project is funded by the National Lottery's Mind Our Future program and will run for eight years, with the initial 18 months used for development. The Dreamers aims to empower young people to co-produce activities, lead on decisions, become change-makers, and find solutions that will influence systemic change in areas affecting their mental health and well-being. The Dreamers' long-term vision is for young people in Cardiff and the Vale seeking asylum or holding refugee status to experience increased resilience and mental well-being in their future.

The Development Phase
This time was used to work with the young people, ensuring that the project met their needs to improve their mental health. Following a long period of consultation, pilot activities, and testing of different approaches, including the Youth Advisory Panel project, the project's objectives have been co-produced with the young people and will continue to be developed with their input.

What do we provide?
The Dreamers project will work alongside young asylum seekers & refugees and support their participation in a number of activities. The project aims to engage with young people at all stages of their journeys - from those who have only been in the UK for a short period, to those who received their refugee status some time ago.
