At Oasis, we are committed to providing a safe and caring environment for children, young people and adults.

The Leadership endeavours to:

  • endorse and follow all national and local safeguarding legislation and procedures, including the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act (2014), Working Together to Safeguard People, Wales Safeguarding Procedures, Children Act (1989),  Children Act (2004) and Mental Health Capacity Act (2005), in addition to the international conventions outlined above.

  • provide on-going safeguarding training for all its workers and will regularly review the operational guidelines.

  • ensure that the premises meet the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and all other relevant legislation, and that it is welcoming and inclusive.

  • support the Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP) in any action they may need to take in order to protect children and adults with care and support needs.

We take a child-centred/adult-centred approach to safeguarding. We always aim to put the needs, wishes and desired outcomes of our clients first, and to ensure that their voices are heard and listened to throughout the safeguarding process.
