Latest News WCVA FUNDED WET ROOM There are few pleasures in life like a good shower. That feeling of being clean after a long day of work, or about of exercise, or even just after waking up in the morning, can really help you feel more like yourself. Not only that, but it’s important for personal hygiene and health reasons. Now imagine how it might feel if you had been without regular access to cleaning facilities due to fleeing your home. Compound this with losing government financial aid one month after refugee status is granted here in Britain, and you may not be able to use a shower for a long time. On top of this, if you’re disabled in any way, standard public washing facilities may not be usable, or at least as easy to use as you need. For our clients, a wet room facility is the most accessible option and, what’s more, it’s free to use. This is why our wet room facility is so important to our community, and why we’re so grateful for the support of Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) in funding the improvement of the wet room. We may not be able to house everyone in need, but with the upgraded facilities, we can give a hot shower to those who need it, and help refugees feel cleaner, healthier, and more like themselves again.
