Take part in the Worth Your Salt Challenge where you will spend one week eating roughly the same amount of food as a displaced person in a refugee camp. Millions of people live in refugee camps, which are designed to provide temporary housing for those fleeing persecution, war and human rights violations. By taking part in this challenge, you will be raising awareness of what’s happening in refugee camps around the world and standing with those who have experienced displacement.

At Oasis we show a warm Welsh welcome to 90 - 170 refugees and asylum seekers per day. During 2022 we served over 27,000 hot meals to refugees and asylum seekers, some of whom have faced the very real challenge of living in a refugee camp.

Due to the cost of living crisis our food bill has increased drastically and as an independent charity, it can be difficult to cover all of our costs. All funds raised from Worth Your Salt will go towards providing nutritional and healthy meals for refugees and asylum seekers across South Wales.

Whether you want to do the Challenge for the whole 5 days or just 1 day - we’d love to have you join us! As we get closer to our target of £5000, we’ll let you know of the rewards you can add to your shopping list, including salt!
