What is a home? This year’s theme for Refugee Week invites us all to celebrate what ‘Our Home’ means to them. Perhaps it’s a place of love, safety and familiarity. It might be found in a single house or a whole community. However, for many people seeking sanctuary, there may be an absence of home as they experience separation from family, difficulty settling in an unfamiliar culture, and adjusting to new languages and systems.

Refugee Week is the world’s largest arts & culture festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. To celebrate this important week, Oasis will be hosting events that aim to foster a sense of ‘Home’ within our community.

Io Capitano Film Screening - Matteo Garrone’s Oscar nominated film highlighting the tragic human cost of migrant journeys. Our food truck will be open and serving food and drinks before the film begins. Event info and tickets here.

Oasis Cultural Cabaret - a fantastic evening of circus performances, music, poetry and street food celebrating the diverse talents and creativity of our community. Find out more about our lineup and book tickets here.

Get Together Lunch - a lunch time get together for anyone and everybody in our community. Come have lunch and meet other community members including Splott Community volunteers and Oasis One World Choir, who will be performing. Entry is free but please confirm your attendance here if you can.
