Oasis Cardiff will be an official charity at the 2023 Principality Cardiff Half Marathon, which is taking place on Sunday 1 October! We have 10 spaces for runners to join Team Oasis.

About Oasis Cardiff

Oasis offers a warm Welsh welcome to over 4,500 asylum seekers and refugees every year. Every penny raised from the Cardiff Half will be used to directly support people seeking sanctuary across Wales.

Join us in raising money so we can continue our essential work offering a place of safety and community to asylum seekers and refugees. Our work has a holistic focus, and looks to provide far-reaching support that relieves financial hardship for asylum seekers and refugees as they settle and fully integrate in the UK.

About the Cardiff Half

The Cardiff Half has grown into one of the most exciting road races in the United Kingdom and is now one of Europe’s largest half marathons. It’s also Wales’ largest mass participation and multi-charity fundraising event, raising more than £3 million each year! Its flat, fast course passes all of the city’s most breathtaking scenery and iconic landmarks including Cardiff Castle, the Principality Stadium, Civic Centre and stunning Cardiff Bay.

Thousands of spectators turn out to cheer on the runners in a city renowned for its sporting passion. Cardiff is a lively capital city offering unique attractions, world-class sports stadiums, vibrant entertainment, waterside eateries and seemingly endless parkland. The event is also a member of the Super Halfs, a global series of the world’s most prestigious half marathons including races in Lisbon, Prague, Copenhagen, Cardiff and Valencia. The series offers runners the chance to embark on an epic running adventure, collecting stamps in a virtual passport and a Super Medal for completing the circuit.

Oasis Cardiff has 10 guaranteed entries available exclusively for fundraisers, offered in return for pledging to raise money for our vital cause.

If you’re interested, please fill out the short form, and we’ll get back to you with a registration link. We look forward to seeing you at the race!

Thanks to Run4Wales, last year the Oasis running club took part in Oasis Half Marathon 2022.

How your money helps

£150 raised can pay for someone to do the Mind-Spring programme, which supports asylum seekers and refugees with their mental health and wellbeing.

£200 raised can pay for a bike and safety equipment for an asylum seeker or refugee, increasing freedom, mobility and independence.

£300 raised can pay for meals for a family for an entire year.

This year we have 10 runners fundraising for Oasis, and 3 asylum seekers/refugees running the Cardiff Half. If you'd like to back our runners, and support our work with asylum seekers and refugees, head to the donate button below!
