WHY VOLUNTEER

Please note, due to the high number of applications we have had in 2020 for volunteering we have decided to close volunteer applications until the end of the year, if you are interested in volunteering please do check back here to see what opportunities we have in January 2021 and get in touch.

Volunteers are an integral part of the Oasis Cardiff team. Every member of the Oasis Cardiff team has a role to play to help keep us
running smoothly. Every member needs to be proactive and help to make a difference in the lives of people who use our services. We love it when people join the team and help us to continue to give asylum seekers and refugees a warm Welsh welcome.

Oasis Cardiff is a diverse team and joining it you get to meet new people, explore different cultures, learn and share new skills and talents. Volunteers are encouraged to share new ideas with the staff
and utilise their skills and passions and to dream big.

“I am only one, but I am one.  I cannot do everything, but I can do something.  And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.” – Edward Everett Hale

Social gatherings are a must to meet the wider community. These happen every other month and take a variety of forms from a coffee and a nice piece of cake to a sit down three-course meal at our annual “Thank You” event. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in regular meetings, to share positive stories and good practice. Oasis Cardiff provides ongoing training related to volunteering roles. A monthly newsletter keeps the team up to date with the goings-on at Oasis Cardiff.

Most importantly we want you to have fun!
