Get involved WHY VOLUNTEER Join our volunteer newsletter Volunteers at Oasis get involved for a variety of reasons: you may want to meet new people, learn new skills or use your existing talents. One thing is certain – volunteers are an integral part of the Oasis team and to our ability to continue supporting asylum seekers and develop future projects. We want all our volunteers to feel valued and know that their work is valuable. We offer asylum seekers and refugees a warm Welsh welcome and every member of the team has a role to play in keeping Oasis running smoothly. We all need to be proactive so we can help make a difference in the lives of the people who use our services. When you join our diverse team you will not only meet new people and explore different cultures, you’re encouraged to share new skills and new ideas, and to utilise your skills and passions. Volunteering helps give a sense of purpose, to be part of a community, improve mental health and wellbeing, meet new people and helps build your CV. Most importantly we hope volunteers have fun! “I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.” Edward Everett Hale In 2023 we completed the Quality Assurance process and have been added to the list of Investing in Volunteers achievers. This means that we're able to offer all of our volunteers a great experience when they come to Oasis! Here is a video from our archives, watch to see who our key volunteers were back in 2017
